Hunter's Ridge Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Princeton, Illinois. This course was formerly named Bureau Valley Country Club and was a private club from 1911- 2002. The Bureau Valley Country Club was sold to a private firm and opened as a public daily fee golf course in the 2003 golf season.
Hunter's Ridge Golf Course first opened for play in 1911. The course was expanded from 9-holes to 18-holes in 2000. The design work was done by Steven Halberg.
The greens at Hunter's Ridge Golf Course are fast and difficult to read. The fairways are open, but the terrain is rolling, so expect some uneven lies. The greens are surprisingly fast. Many holes require course management, and good shot selection. Most of the greens are not much larger than a postage stamp, making for difficult targets to hit. Some will find the hole routing to be confusing. The holes seem to criss-cross each other. There is a long seperation between holes making Hunter's Ridge Golf Course a beast to walk.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,337 yards, 70.5/125
White tees: par-72, 6,030 yards, 69.2/122
Red tees: par-72, 5,052 yards, 69.1/118
The course well known for its plantation style clubhouse and scenic views. The championship course offers golfers the best tree-lined fairways and ridges in the area.

This course was private, now public (Hunters Ridge). Most holes are honest, but there are a couple that are a little tricky, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you just want to quit. You have to see a great layout that needs to be changed to play at all levels. 20 handicapers will loose 6-8 balls every round.

Played Sunday Apr 20, 2008. They had a special "play day" no greens fees, no cart fees, 100% free. For early in year course was in great condition, sand traps were in spectacular condition, best maintained sand traps in area, light and fluffy just like they should be. Very old course with lots of mature trees. Only drawback, on many holes the distance from the green to the next tee box is very long and in some cases, not well marked. Would be very difficult to walk this course. Awesome clubhouse, very friendly staff and patrons.
